State Round Up

A couple of weeks ago I competed in state roundup on my presentation about Gluten Free Living. This year it was held at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. This was the first year I have ever gone to state. We left on Tuesday morning and stayed until Friday. The drive was kinda boring but at least I had my music and phone (no I was not driving.) We went out to eat and then stayed in the the hotel until the next day. On Wednesday we went to Main Event Entertainment and play three games of bowling and one game of golf. Afterwards we went to eat lunch/dinner and then went back to the hotel. Thursday was my competition and it was fun but tiring. I gave my presentation and found out that three more people did a Gluten free presentations. Which in the end was a good thing because I learned some more good tips, as well as taught at least one person something in my presentation. I wound up not placing in top three but I didn’t care. I had a lot of fun and that was all that mattered. I also got some information on a cool college that teaches computer gaming programing. I am hoping I will be able to make it to State again next year for my improved Gluten Free Living presentation.

Next activity!

So I have decided I want to try and write a book. I tried to write a book for NaNoWriMo (Nation Novel Writing Month) and I finally finished several chapters but there is one problem, I am horrible about backing up my documents. My computer crashed and I lost everything, even my book so I was not a happy camper. Oh well I can rebrainstorm my ideas and maybe come up with something better. I want to write a murder mystery so I am going to try and not be spending so much time on my social networking apps for awhile. At least until after brainstorming. Wish me luck!

Okay so I am due for an upgrade soon and I chose to get an iPhone. But what do you prefer? I was going to get android but my mom has had a lot of her problems with hers and I do not want to risk that. My stepdad has the new iPhone and he hasn’t had any problems with it. So I want your input. Which is better in your opinion? Leave me a comment in my cbox. The only reason why I wanted android is because I can customize it pretty much any way I want it to look like. I can do that with an iPhone or iPod touch by jailbreaking. But I did choose iPhone but maybe on my next upgrade I will get android or Windows Phone.

Security Software

I have tried literally every anti-virus software out there with major problems. I used Clamwin on my school computer, it was the worst one ever. It had no real time protection or automatic updates. I also used Microsoft Security Essentials. Great antivirus unless you do a lot of web surfing. I had several fake antiviruses and they basically screwed up my computer. I also used AVG Internet Security. It worked pretty well but there are more false results more than anything. I used panda cloud antivirus and it just seems too lightweight to work. I finally chose Norton 360 but it is too much money to pay right now. So I am trying a new one called Comodo Internet Security and it seems okay. I will have to do a review later. I hope one day I can purchase Norton.

So today I competed in the District 5 roundup for 4-H. I gave a presentation on Gluten Free Living. I was the third person in line and I think I was the only senior in my category. However I do believe I did very well. I did not stutter as much and eyeing the judges was easier. I got first place and I get to go to state competition in June. I am so excited.
